THINGS...

Seriously. From detailed garden statues to ornate figurines, I’m constantly breaking all sorts of stuff. But there’s nothing I enjoy breaking quite like the news. Ever since I was little, I’ve loved writing stories.
Gathering the latest information on today's issues and reshaping it into a narrative that is both
engaging and informative has always been a passion of mine. So I guess it makes sense
that I decided to pursue journalism.

In 2017, I received my bachelor’s degree in journalism from Ryerson University with a minor in politics. Complimenting my studies was an internship at OpenCanada.org, a digital publication reporting
on matters of foreign policy and international relations. I also spent my final semester as
digital managing editor of the Ryersonian, one of two campus newspapers.
​
Adding to my experience in print and digital journalism is a strong background in broadcasting. As a former camera operator and video editor for Correio da Manhã Canadá, a Portuguese TV news station, I
maintain a solid understanding of how to develop smooth sequences through the use of both
conventional and dynamic shot composition.
​
My recent enrolment in Bell Media's Graduate Leadership Program has allowed me to fine-tune these skills and others. While producing segments and online videos for some of the country's most popular TV
and radio shows, I've been able to improve my ability to write and manage projects.
The result is content with meaningful takeaways for everyone tuning in.
​
I am most enthusiastic about covering politics and current affairs. Fresh angles, thorough research,
and diligent questioning help me continue to reinvent what I do.
​
So here’s to breaking (and making) all the news to come!

SEEING THROUGH THE OLD SMOKE
London, 2019
A town rich in history, yet crawling with the latest in fashion and technology — London is the perfect mix of old and new.
It’s quite fitting, then, that reconnecting with an old friend is what led to me visit the city for the first time.
I witnessed history in the statues of Trafalgar Square and the bricks of Buckingham Palace, while riding around in the latest double-decker buses and trying new renditions of old classics like fish and chips.
Nearly 200 years old, Big Ben himself even got a facelift.
